The author was distracted by unfolding events and noted the wrong city. > Folks, The following just in from Bob Dixon at OSU: it appears that the Fall Internet2 Membership Meeting in Washington DC the first week of October will be or is now cancelled in light of the recent attacks. Those of you who have H.323 videoconferencing capability and have not done so already may want to visit the Megaconference-III site at: http://www.mega-net.net/megaconference/ If you register for the Megaconference, you will automatically be subscribed to the Megaconference listserv, which is among the most useful for H.323 early adopters in general. I had not planned on mounting a major Megaconference coordinating/prodding effort this year with so many other important local activities so far behind. The WNY-HPNVI Sandbox facilities, will be available and fully operational, however, and if I can cascade-in our local MCU to provide improved participation for regional sites without good connectivity (I1 or I2) to the OSU conference support MCU site, but who have good connectivity to our campus, then I will do so. As soon as I have a chance to get our local Megaconference Web pages up-to-date, I'll post the link to our lists. This could be the beginning of a trend to reduce unnecessary airline travel. I hope that those of you who are appropriately equipped and are able to do so will offer free access to any viewing/participation sites you may be able to secure. Please post notices to our lists if you plan to do so. A number of people who would otherwise have physically attended may be interested in taking advantage of such sites.
