No activity may be included in Sandbox based trials that requires production levels of support depth and reliability unless production support alternatives are maintained in readiness, by the affected institutions, to cover the times when Sandbox facilities are not available for use due to any number of possible problems. Sandbox facilities are maintained for public- access public-benefit developmental use on a best-effort but under-funded and under- staffed basis. While production grade availability, reliability, and control models are our idealized objectives, developmental priorities, which tend to destabilize facilities in the interest of progress, will prevail. Further clarification of Sandbox development and use policies is included in an a WNY-HPNVI Sandbox FAQ, available by request from Jim Whitlock, . The WNY-HPNVI, its staff and its supporters assume no responsibility of any kind for direct or consequential damages arising from failures to provide support for planned developmental activities and events. Such activities and events may be cancelled or aborted with neither advance notice nor reason provided. 1) H.320 and H.323 real-time participating sites are expected to maintain audio contact with conference control personnel on the conference technical coordination telephone bridge at all times that their sites are connected to the conference MCU cascade. They are expected to do so with telephones or headsets equiped with a mute function and to remain muted at all times that they are not speaking to conference control or other sites on the telephone bridge. 2) For live Grand Rounds, one person at one site will be designated as the event owner/host. The WNY-HPNVI and conference control personnel are merely facilitators and coordinators. Typically, there will be some real-time sites who are formally part of a Grand Rounds conference and others who are monitoring or participating as guests and as part of our more generalized collective Extended Grand Rounds trial. Those participating as guests are expected to remain muted on the live cascade at all times unless prior arrangements have been made with the event owner/host. The designated event owner/host will be expected to make all real-time decisions that affect the conference including, operating mode and protocol, disconnection of ill-behaved sites, and whether or not to power-cycle or reset MCU's and other infrastructure components supporting the conference. 3) At this time, no attempts are being made to authenticate access to either the real-time conference or live streams of the conference. The event owner/host is responsible for reminding presenters of any applicable confidentiality guidelines and policies. The event owner/host is also responsible for reminding presenters that conferences will be routinely recorded and made available for on-demand review unless the event owner/host has requested and announced otherwise and that, even then, it will be impossible to preclude unauthorized recording of live conference streams.
