Requests for inclusion on the roster for the WNYPHN listserv and bona-fide requests for additional member contact information should be directed to David G. Ellis, MD, the working group Chair, Susan Ellis, who will  manage the roster, or Jim Whitlock for forwarding and handling.  Please include a brief statement of your background and interests.

The WNY Public Health Network working group was convened by Dr. David G. Ellis on 3/4/2002 at the Erie County Medical Center.  The objective of the first meeting was to provide an overview of the variety of regional public health and safety needs that, we believe, can only be met with a robust video data network.

This Web site is being hastily constructed to help support an effort to rapidly craft proposals for substantial amounts of federal monies that are now becoming available for restoration and build-up of nationwide public health and safety services and capabilities.  It is being temporarily hosted on the University at Buffalo's WNY-HPNVI site both for expedience and because WNYPHN objectives so clearly form a superset of the objectives common to our larger constituency, the known WNY regional IP-video early adopters in education, healthcare and government service.  Those stated objectives, in general terms, are to work towards establishing the robust and seamless regional public sector internetworking and IP-video infrastructure facilities that will be necessary to support public benefit networked video applications in education, healthcare and government service.

Meeting minutes, plans, schedules, straw proposals, and working documents will be posted as soon after they are received as possible.  Please forward anything of value to David G. Ellis, MD, Chair, or Jim Whitlock for forwarding and handling

This is a Web site developmental model.  The Web site will likely always be a few steps behind or ahead of the design sketched out in an accompanying design planning outline.  This site will be viewed best using IE 5+.    Please direct any and all comments to:  whitlock@buffalo.edu
