First IP Video Success
UB School of Nursing
Syllabus 99
July 27, 1999
By 4Q98 we had started working with the early 323 releases for
Zydacron boards. I don't remember exactly when the first 323 release came
out.
About that time, the School of Nursing's Nurse Practitioner
program had a presentation accepted for the Syllabus 99 conference in
California. They would be wanting to demonstrate a 3-way live connection
between themselves, the ECMC clinical areas and a faculty conference room in
Kimbal Tower. ISDN line provisioning at the conference venue was
problematic. At some point, Mark Woodard, the SON tech support person in
charge of their VC operations, and I looked at each other, said "Why
not?" and our first success with a production application for 323 on the
public internet was born.
The email
note announcing our success is in our archives. So too are the talking
points I prepared for Dr. Martens, who had 2 minutes at the end of the
on-line portion of the event.
